Say Goodbye to your Razor!

At Last…say goodbye to the old-fashioned and outdated torture of hair removal methods once and for all!

Summer is on its way and you know what that means – shorts, bathing suits, tank tops, and flip flops. With days spent at the pool and outside with your loved ones, who has time for old-fashioned shaving with a razor?  Not savvy Beautique Medical Spa clients. They all get Laser Hair Removal. Plus, shaving irritates your skin (you know, South Padre Salt Water and shaving do not mix) and shaving only lasts for a couple days. Oh, and don’t even get me started on those ugly little prickly pimples left behind when you shave. Plucking and waxing may last longer, however, they still can irritate and can be quite painful as well, OUCH!
Laser Hair Removal (LHR) is one of the most common cosmetic procedures in the U.S. With current technology, it is also one of the most successful. Although it is a widely used treatment, if you aren’t getting Laser Hair Removal it’s probably because you still have some questions about it. Below is the top 7 most common questions we’ve been asked over the years.  We have all the answers because we have been doing this for a LONG time …. 16 years as a matter of fact!

TOP 7 MOST COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT LHR

Q: What is Laser Hair Removal?

A: Laser Hair Removal is the process of treating targeted areas with a highly concentrated beam of light directly into the hair follicles. This process destroys the hair root and disables the follicle from producing hair in the future.

Q: Does Laser Hair Removal hurt?

A: LHR is much less painful than waxing or plucking. Depending on the device, there may be some slight discomfort described by patients as a light rubber band snap against the skin. Since we each KNOW Laser Hair Removal at Beautique, and we are kind of babies when it comes to pain, we have three devices we use to remove hair, and NONE of them hurt.  The most we’ve had to use is ice to numb the skin, but most people don’t need anything and report that they felt no pain.  You won’t know until you experience it yourself!

Q: Will Laser Hair Removal work for me?

A: Beautique Medical Spa utilizes high tech and renowned equipment in combination with many years of experience in LHR process. We can change the lasers wavelength, pulse duration, penetration depth, treatment speed and spot size to ensure effectiveness on all skin and hair types.  We actually have a proprietary protocol that can be used to treat grey, white, and red hair…which is unheard of with most Laser Hair Removal clinics.  We are OBSESSED when it comes to being hair free, which is why we researchand scour the globe for tricks of the trade to train our team and ensure that we can help everyone be free from unwanted hair.

Q: How many treatments will I need?

A: Did you know that all hair on the body goes through a cycle and each individual hair is in a different cycle at any given time? Cycles run one to three months. For this reason, anywhere from 9-12 treatments, spaced out according to hair growth cycles, are needed to achieve optimal results. Before we get started we have a very thorough consultation where we educate our clients on how hair cycles work on different areas of the body and why we require a certain number of visits strategically scheduled depending on the body part we are concentrating on. One of our pet peeves is that many offices treat helter-skelter, giving Laser Hair Removal a BAD NAME.  Our goal is to get you HAIR FREE and we are committed to reaching that goal safely and effectively.

Q: Will Laser Hair Removal discolor my skin?

A: There has been cases of hyper-pigmentation happening as a side affect post treatment, however, the side effect is preventable, This kind of side effect really only happens when you choose a location that doesn’t understand pigment and hair. If you choose the right place with the right equipment, like Beautique Medical Spa, you won’t have to worry. We won’t treat or accept a client if they are not following the pre and post care rules.  We don’t mess around…. SAFETY FIRST!  Aftercare is very important. As long as the post-care regiment is followed, there should be little to no side effects.

Q: Is Laser Hair Removal Permanent?

A: Laser Hair Removal significantly reduces future hair growth, especially when done in multiple treatments to cover all the phases of hair growth. When done correctly most people can stop shaving all-together. The right treatment plan, based on skin type and hair type is the key to success.

Q: Is LHR expensive?

A: Laser Hair Removal has been quite expensive in the past. Fortunately, with newer technology the price can be quite affordable. Once you have chosen an office you feel comfortable with, the best option is usually to purchase packages or deals depending on the area(s) you want treated.
